A stable victory for Pakistan after early jolts
Finally Pakistan wins the first ODI against England the fans must have all taken a long sigh of relief. It looked like a hard task the way Pakistan lost its early wickets. They were not chasing a big total yet Pakistan is known to make such matches.
Pakistan bowled first and booked England for 215 on a wicket that was assisting batting once a batsman get settled. The first three wickets fell early thanks to a devastating spell of fast bowling by Irfan and Anwar.
The pair swung the ball and England was doomed in front of both. Later the spinners came into action and then spinners gave a tough time to the English batting line.
The fielding was great and as a result England didn’t score much in the first game. When Pakistan came into the field for a chase, they too went through the same. England booked their first three batsmen earlier.
It was Hafeez, Malik and Azam who made the win possible for Pakistan. Hafeez hit a brilliant hundred with Malik hitting a solid partnership with him. It was the first hundred from Pakistan against England since 2006.
Azam is a beauty without much doubt. The young lad played like a pro. He was cool and calm in his approach and the way he knocked out some wonderful big shots was just amazing.
It was his long partnership that took Pakistan home. Hafeez hit the winning runs and it was Dil Dil Pakistan song time for the Pakistan fans.
