Irfan bowled the first ball on the middle stump and Roy was able to hit it somehow with his bat. The slow motion replay showed that the ball hit the bottom of his bat. He was very much late in bringing his bat down.
On the second ball he was even later than in the first case. This first Irfan brought the ball back into the right hander. The ball hit he perfect spot and shaped back into Roy. Once it went pass his bat it was curtains for Roy.
Either he would have gotten LBW or bowled. Irfan went with the second option. Left nothing for the umpire to decide. He beats Roy with the movement and shattered the ball onto his middle stump.
It was a ripper from the tall fellow. Roy was facing him for the first time so he had absolutely no idea about Irfan’s pace. He was deceived by it completely.
Pakistan is onto the English team right in the first over. The first opener is gone and now Irfan will be all pumped u to get a few more to knock England out completely. Anwar Ali spell will also matter a lot here.
The wicket looked a batting track but there is something for the fast bowlers. The way Irfan has generated pace in his first two balls clearly suggests that there is movement and assistance to pace here in Abu Dhabi.
Root walks in to face Irfan and now it will be an interesting contest. The best English batsmen against the best Pakistani fast bowler at the moment.
